ABOUT US

Beige and Orange Rainforest National Park Logo 2.PNG

With how rural we are, we don’t have access to as many resources as the majority needs and we are making efforts to help meet our communities unmet needs and be here for those who may not have the necessary support. Our goal is to be here, be open and available, host monthly awareness events, workshops and joyful activities for everyone, provide warm and cold meals and much more. We have partnered with a couple of other local nonprofit organizations and hope to continue developing relationships with others. We have joined them on a few projects like Appalachian Edge Free Market, a free thrift store that includes non perishable foods, hygiene care, reproductive healthcare items and more everyday necessities, creating a mutual aid system, a non-fiction book club, a support group for women and more in the works.

We are always welcome to folks joining our team and volunteering. Let's create supportive, safe and inclusive spaces together.

Hey yall! It’s us! Your Adams County Pride team 🥰🌈🏳️‍⚧️

From left to right we have, Aliya, Jalyn, Abigaile, Lincoln and Taryn! We are so happy to have started this amazing organization and are doing everything we can to create safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for our community. We’ve been working our asses off planning our first ever Adams County Pride festival! We are making history here folks and we’re ready to share it with all of you!

About our Team:

Jalyn: I was born and raised in Manchester Ohio, I’m 24 years old, and I love animals. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a bearded dragon!  I’m Trans, my pronouns are he/him. I’m just a dude that’s very passionate about inclusion, community, and making people feel seen, supported, and welcome 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I’m super stoked to be apart of this group and bringing something amazing to Adams County, it’s long overdue!

Taryn (She/Her): I am the only one out of our team that is not from southern Ohio, I grew up in the Springfield, Dayton area and moved to Adams County in Spring 2024 with my boy and partner. I am a 32 year old mom of a boy, a photographer, educator, advocate and activist. I actively lead the group called Appalachian Edge Ohio Indivisible and have started a free market and other mutual aid efforts for our county and the surrounding. Everywhere I grew up and where my boy was raised was all inclusive and very diverse until we moved out here. I wanted and needed to be a part of something that helped create the same kind of environment as well as create safe spaces for those who have been and are still to this day being targeted for being who they are. My son and everyone else’s children deserve to live somewhere where they are not bullied, excluded or fear for their lives. One day I was reached out to by a local to help start this Pride organization and I was on board in a second. It’s time rural southern Ohio had this kind of support, have more resources readily available and real education deployed to ensure progressive change within our entire communities. I’m happy and honored to be here for yall.

Hey! My name is Aliya. I was born and raised in Manchester OH. I am 28 years old and my pronouns are she/her. I am a proud bisexual! I am so proud to be a part of this team helping bring community and inclusion into Adams county. As a teen I saw so many of my friends and classmates struggle to be accepted and loved the way everyone deserves. I have had the privilege of being in Cincinnati and seeing such a diverse community. My goal joining this group was to help bridge the gap between rural and urban communities allowing our Adams County residents to see all the resources they have in their backyard.

Lincoln: I was born and raised in Peebles. I'm 30. Pansexual. He/they. I've seen first hand the effects that bullying can have on queer kids, and I want to make sure people in this county know they aren't alone. And they have a community of their own.

All in all I'm just looking to give back in any way I can.

Hi, I'm Abigayle. I was born and raised in Clermont County and recently moved to Adam's County. I am 26 years old, love to be outside, love all things crafty, and love animals, including my 4 cats. Being from 3 counties over, I've seen the differences within the two communities and have found that Adam's County needs a place for people to connect with others that are accepting of who they are. That is why I am so grateful to be able to help with this group and bring people together when they need it most.

Pride is a necessity for every place in this world including here, in southern rural Ohio.❤️‍🩹🌈

In case anyone was wondering, we are always looking for new teammates to join us. We have roles and duties open and available to you if you’d like to see if you’d be a good fit. After our first Pride festival we will announce a team and volunteer meeting for you to join and learn about all of what being on our team would entail so stayed tuned.
