VOLUNTEERING & 
COMMITTEES

We are seeking safe, loyal and dedicated folks to join our Adams County Pride Organization Committees.

Committees to Join:

 

Volunteer Committee

Responsible for finding people to volunteer and coordinate them. Also helping out in situations where volunteers are needed. Gathering feedback from volunteers to improve their experience. You will have creative freedom with ideas on how to encourage more people to volunteer or even join a committee. Sometimes helping out other committees when needed. Helping with set up/tear down for events.

Arts and Crafts Committee:

Responsibilities include making home-made decorations ex: bracelets, pins/buttons, signs, festival decorations, and doing your best to make everything reusable/low waste. Planning community decoration/crafting events, but not responsible for gathering materials, we as a whole can contribute to gathering materials. You will have creative freedom, although mock up ideas must be presented to the board no later than the monthly meeting before the event. If you're unable to attend the event, board members/whoever will be attending the event will need the decorations 1 week before the event to ensure smooth set up.

Safety Committee:

Safety is our #1 Priority!! You would be in charge of making sure our committee members and volunteers have everything they need including water, sunscreen etc. Potentially be a part of our security team if we don't have one secured for our 2027 Pride Festival. Your goal is to make sure everyone at the events are safe and hydrated! Smaller events won't be as hectic, but safety is still important for those as well. You may even need to step in for a volunteer or committee member so they can get a quick break. Remember that even though you're keeping everyone else safe, don't forget your safety is priority as well.

Small Events Committee:

You would help plan events for the community, including Saturdays With Pride. Look into booking spaces for events and have a detailed plan/schedule included expenses and present to the board the monthly meeting before the event. Help other committees with planning their events and helping with social media ideas to help boost events. Help coordinate vendors for small events and the 2027 Adams County Pride Festival. Help with set up and tear down for events, along with hanging up/taking down flyers. Asking vendors and attendees for feedback on the event so we can improve.

Community Outreach Committee:

Help volunteer committee with finding people in the community to volunteer or join our Organization, and help with spreading the word about Adams County Pride and who we are. Showing up to community events to speak to vendors and community members while spreading flyers for our events. Work with Small Events Committee on planning community events to help spread the word about us. This committee will involve alot of communication and reaching out to people

Overall Committee Responsibilities:

As a member of these committees you must attend 75% of the events held as a part of the Adams County Pride Organization with a 1 week notice if unable to attend. We also expect you to attend the 2027 Pride Festival. Please do not feel overwhelmed, we are all in this together and will help one another. The goal here isn't to have strict committees, we know that life hits us in the face sometimes and we understand if you're unable to attend certain events, communication is key and we want to have a fun time while making sure everything gets done. We're all here for each other!
